With yet another assault allegation now looming over UFC fighter Coner Mcgregor’s head have we finally come to the point where we have to take a closer look at what kind of impact his actions will have on combat sports.
What can be learned from Coner Mcgregor’s success? He is currently the most well-known mma fighter in sports, has made the transition to the mainstream, and is the highest paid athlete in combat sports. Should other athletes emulate him because it seems that he is rewarded for his actions?
Although he hasn’t yet been charged, McGregor has dealt with multiple sexual assault allegations over the previous few years. It would seem he has no intentions of stoping because the smile on his face says it all.
Therefore, who is to blame for the Conor McGregor we see today? Is it the fans that encouraged such awful behavior by applauding him whenever he appears?
Is it Dana White and the UFC’s lack of decisive action or failure to put their foot down and demand an end to the behavior?
We all know Conor Mcgregor is an adult who is accountable for his own conduct, so can we place the blame squarely at his feet?
Or perhaps he is so engrossed with his own fame that he fails to recognize that what he is doing is wrong because, as we all know, when you’re a social media celebrity, any news is good news.
