The Roar Of The Crowd Says It All

‘I am kicking myself,’ said Chatri Sityodtong expressing his feelings regarding his first show in the United States when asked at the post press conference. While talking to his team about doing his first show in the United States, one of the topics of discussion was possibly a larger venue. At the time Chatri felt the 1st Bank Center in Denver Colorado was the way to go, but with the venue selling out in less than a day, he acknowledged he had underestimated the enthusiasm of the American crowd.

Now that ONE Fight Night 10 is in the books, I guess all the questions have been answered in the simplest way possible: the roar of the crowd. Nothing gives you a seal of approval like an uncontrollable outpouring of emotion from screaming fans chanting the name Rodtang after his knock out victory over Edgar Tabares in 1:34 seconds of the second round.

Perhaps it was the deafening sound of cheers when Stamp Fairtex ended Alyse Anderson’s hype train with a body kick to the midsection at 2:27 of Round 2, sending Anderson to the mat unable to get back up and Stamp celebrating her victory with her signature dance moves and sending the crowd into a frenzy.

These two fights alone could have easily made this fight card worth the price of admission, but it kept getting better and better, especially the fight of the night performance between Roberto “Robocop” Soldic vs Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam, which concluded in a surprise KO of Soldic that left the fans stunned.

But first, let’s get to the moment that everyone had been waiting for: Demetrious Johnson finally being able to fight in the United States, after being traded from the UFC in 2018, in a trilogy battle versus Adriano Moraes, which resulted in Demetrious Johnson retaining the belt. That was a perfect finale to a spectacular card that announced to the world that ONE Championship has arrived, and the fans showed their appreciation by chanting DJ to cap the night.
