Keith “Rockstar” Richardson The Pride Of The Carolinas

On Friday, Oct. 20 at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, SC, BKFC put on a card that put all eyes on them, putting the test on Carolina fighters to prove they are the ones to watch in their own backyard, which they did by electrifying the fight fans with every emotion that a fan can display.

From Jeremie “Hit Em” Holloway finally made his BKFC debut versus Cameron “Jump Man” VanCamp proving he was the right pick with a unanimous decision.

Or we can discuss the star power matchup of Brandon “The Dream Killer” Bushaw getting a knockout over the popular Josh “Danger” Marer demonstrating his evolution from just a mma figter with his footwork and hand fakes that lead to his second round victory.

Jeremiah Scott, making his debut, was able to compose himself after being downed in the first round by Chevy “Wild Man” Bridges. He was able to take control of the fight going into the third round, dropping Chevy Bridges twice and winning by ko.

Trukon Carson proved his dominance against Daishaun Middleton by demonstrating how effective the klinch can be when landing strikes, finishing Daishaun in the first round.

Not to mention Solon Staley, who weathered the storm against a very aggressive Darrick Gates, whose persistent pressure made it difficult for Staley to get off, but when he did, he caused enough damage to necessitate a doctor’s stoppage.

And what can we say about the crazy fight between Tony “Loco” Soto and Kevin “Crash” Croom? This fight demonstrated that constant pressure can also work against you if you only use one tactic to win a fight, Soto was able to find the flaws in that strategy, leading to his unanimous decision win over Crooms.

Keith “The Rockstar” Richardson demonstrated why he is one of the biggest names in combat sports in the Carolinas by stopping reigning champion Reggie “Educated Hands” Barnett Jr in the second round with his Marine Corps mentality of overwhelming force, which resulted in Barnett dropping from heavy strikes and being unable to get back up, effectively ending Barnett’s title run and ushering in the era of Keith Richardson.

In conclusion, this fight card demonstrated that Carolina fighters can put on a show and deliver excitement and energy that makes you want to stand up in your seats and cheer, as evidenced by the packed arena, and as a fight fan myself, I look forward to seeing what BKFC does next when they return to the Carolinas.
